An armed biker gang. Cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed. A mosque in Arizona. What could possibly go wrong?

It doesn't take a crystal ball to see what can happen. Or what this band of Geller acolytes would like to happen.
This "peaceful" but armed demonstration will happen TOMORROW at 6:15pm (MDT) . Here is the invite
because "This is when they normally host a large prayer." - the invite
Friday prayer isn't just another prayer. It's Jummah, like church on Sundays. Muslims go for formal worship, hear a sermon, make their formal prayers (salaat),* and if they are able, if they don't have to return to school or to work, enjoy fellowship of their community. JUST LIKE Sunday church services.
The organizer is self described blatant, blunt, outspoken Marine, Jon Ritzheimer
"I appreciate the (Phoenix Islamic Center) did come out and they condemned the two gunman," Ritzheimer said. "They've come out and they've condemned ISIS."
But it's still not enough from the Phoenix Islamic Community Center of Phoenix, where the two gunmen worshiped, he said.

So just as Muslims have said it doesn't matter.
You know that cross in a jar of urine that Rush Limbaugh and rw Christain's like to get all upset about. It was in an art show. But what if now people started showing up with those jars in front of churches on a Sunday? What if they held drawing contests of Jesus in various compromising positions in front of a church on a Sunday? People would just be showing their first amendment rights . . . how about if they laid flag on the ground and walked all over them in front of the rw Christian church on a Sunday morning too? The venue of these events matter. (like where you can yell "fire)
Did anyone go Scott Roeder's church and cause a scene? Did those church going people have to deal with this type of harassment? Did they even denounce the violence of Scott Roeder?
It isn't enough to do these contests, giving ISIL plenty of material for propaganda (I wonder if Geller is getting recruitment kick backs/bonuses)? Now they have to be shoved in the face of Muslims who are just going to pray. And Friday prayer is considered mandatory.
As pissed off as I am about this this. I've also found some humor.
Jon Ritzheimer, the blatant, blunt, delinquent, bigoted and dumb outspoken Marine, shows even more ignorance.
Jummah is scheduled for 1pm
There isn't a prayer at the Islamic Community Center in Phoenix AZ at 6:15pm.
I checked the prayer table. I checked to see if it was Sunni or Shia (slightly different prayer times)
There isn't a prayer, period.
No one, but probably security, will be there. There are no events scheduled. I checked the calendar. But you know Da'ish will have a fresh new batch of propaganda with a mosque in the background. (you sure you guys aren't getting a recruiting fee from them?)
So yes, show how stupid, hate filled and ignorant you are by not only shoving your event designed to incite down the throats of Muslims who have disavowed and want to live in peace with their neighbors. But further show your ignorance by not even trying to know anything about the religion and people you are hating on.
At most people will start arriving for prayers just as your event ends. That is if the mosque is open Friday evening for Maghrib. (they may just tell those who prefer to pray at the mosque instead of home to go to another mosque). But y'all have a scheduled party to go to at 8pm where you can drink yourselves even more stupid.
Remember that Porky's quote:
Tim Cavanaugh: Anybody wanna go fly a kite with me tonight? I hear it's great weather for flying KITES! I wonder if there's any KITES around here we can fly!
Brian Schwartz: Hey listen, Cavanaugh. It's not kite, it's KIKE! K-I-K-E, "kike." You know, you're too stupid to even be a good bigot!

I'll just leave that there
But in this case ignorance is a blessing
* du'a is the "informal prayer" which looks more like the Christian prayer; except hands aren't folded, they are opened and facing upward to receive God's/Allah's blessings/will/etc. Informal prayer happens at any time. Salaat prayer is the 5 formal prayers done as specific times - but those times vary with the calendar.
11:45 AM PT: angry marmot found this (Thank you!):
Good statement from the Center's President:
The president of the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix where the protest is planned said he has been notified by Phoenix Police and the FBI about the event. Usama Shami said he respects the protesters’ right to free speech.
“Everybody has a right to be a bigot. Everybody has a right to be a racist. Everybody has a right to be an idiot,” Shami said. He added that members of the mosque have been encouraged to attend prayer services Friday evening as scheduled.
“It will be the same as every Friday evening and we’re going to tell our members what we’ve told them before: not to engage them,” said Shami. “They’re not looking for an intellectual conversation. They’re looking to stir up controversy and we’re not going to be a part of it.”
