From a recent article in the Billings Gazette (Billings, MT) newspaper, http://billingsgazette.com/... a school trip for 3rd graders in Glendive, MT to a "Creationist" Dinosaur museum was cancelled by "outside" influence. The cancellation was based on legal concerns that having a school sponsored trip to a Creationist museum would be in conflict with the Separation of Church and State.

There seems to be three separate threads in the comment sections.
1) Those damn outside liberals are sticking their noses into our business here in Montana...
2) What's wrong with a tour of a Creationist museum that shows man and dinosaurs living side-by-side...
3) Support of the school board's decision based upon either the support of actual science and/or support of the separation of Church and State...
I grew up in a small town near Glendive (53 miles away is near back there) and am saddened by the lack of believe in scientific progress and critical thinking on the part of some in the region.
Montana is a Red state that has in the past elected Democrats to national office. Given the lack of logical thinking and continuation for voting against one's best interest; Montana will continue it's spiral downward in the drain of TEA Party and Conservative thinking.
